We've all been missing the gorgeous and talented Shakira, who's been away from the spotlight for a while now. The good news is that she's back in the news for all the right reasons with the release of Disney's Zootopia.

The singer didn't just voice the character of Gazelle, she also convinced the producers to make her look more believable. In her original look, Gazelle looked too thin. While Shakira liked the character and her story line, she felt the look was inappropriate and 'too slim.'

In recent press interactions, she said, "I feel like her and I have a common denominator. When the directors told me about her, I said ‘That is me’, but she was too slim so I asked them to give her more curves and put more meat on the bones. She needs bigger hips so she has them now."

Shakira also has a very happy, uplifting song in the film called Try Everything, which is already on its way to becoming the next Disney anthem.

She's been on a break from The Voice, but the good news is that she returns to singing in March this year. Promoting body-positive characters is a great way to start the year. Well done, Shakira.
