OmBra: A Smart Bra with Biometric Tracking That Helps You Get a Better Workout
One of the biggest constants in life is that one resolution we make every year to get healthier or fitter. Technology is creating newer gadgets every month to help us train better, hydrate better, even make sure we train better. But what if someone created technology that literally doesn't add to your workout gear, but is built in to what you'll be wearing anyway?
OmSignal, a Canadian company famous for smart compression shirts for men, has recently developed a new sports bra, that tracks heart rate, breathing rate, as well as calories burned. The data is recorded via a sensor-filled black box which is inserted in the lower band of the bra, and settles along the rib cage. This data is then shared wirelessly to the OmSignal mobile app, which will also have an option called OmRun, which used in tandem with the OmBra, measures distance, pace, breathing rhythm, and fatigue levels during running workouts.
The app allows the user to look at real-time readouts of metrics at any time during a workout, and delivers post-workout analytics that let the wearer identify weak points, and improve performance in the future.
This rechargeable bra claims to last upto 10 workouts, which adds upto a full day. The bra is also splash-proof, and comes with adjustable bands and straps that help it mould itself to any body shape.
If you're already impressed, and want one for yourself, you'll have to wait till Spring 2016, and bear in mind, it won't come cheap. It's supposed to retail at around $149, which is about INR 9,975.
