Goa

Other than the beautiful churches and forts, the party capital of the country has a lot of beaches that are open to public, where you can go and chill without spending any money. Plus, the fact that the local King's beer and port wine come at a cost of less than ₹100 doesn't hurt!

How to get there on a budget: You can take a train to Madgaon, Vasco da Gama, or Karmali railway stations.

Puducherry has a lot to offer for a budget traveller. You can visit the Aurobindo Ashram, Auroville, and the Old Lighthouse. The local markets also offer a lot of options for jewellery, clothes, and art at an affordable price.

How to get there on a budget: You can take a train to Puducherry, or go to Chennai, and take a five-hour bus ride from there.

Daman

Other than the Mirasol Lake Garden, Cathedral of Bom Jesu, and St Jerome Fort, you can go to the beautiful Jampore and Devka beaches, which are open to public, while you're in Daman.

How to get there on a budget: You can take a train to Daman (Vapi Railway Station). Or you can go to Surat, and take a two-hour-long road journey from there.

While you're at the beautiful backwaters of Alleppey, you can rent a houseboat for a day at a nominal price. You can also borrow local fishermen's kayaks for as little as ₹100, and have an authentic experience well within your budget.

How to get there on a budget: You can either go till Kochi or Thiruvananthapuram, and then take an hour-long road trip to Alleppey, or you can take a train to Alappuzha.

While in Kovalam, you should try to visit all the open beaches, including the Lighthouse Beach, Kovalam Beach, and the Hawa Beach. Also, you can learn how to surf at a nominal rate at one of these places.

How to get there on a budget: You can either take a train till Ratnagiri and then take an hour-long bus ride, or you could go to Pune and make a six-hour-long trip by bus to get to Ganpatipule.

The beautiful beaches of Vizag in Andhra Pradesh have a lot to offer to a budget traveler. Vizag has about eight open beaches for you to choose from, where you can chill without spending a dime.

How to get there on a budget: You can either take a train to Vizag (Simhachalam Railway Station), or you could take a seven-hour-long bus ride from Vijaywada. You could also take a train till Vizianagaram Junction, and then take a two-hour-long bus ride.
